If you love a classic biography about a normal young man turned massive drug kingpin bigger than Pablo Escobar, this is the book for you.

In case you’ve never heard of it, there used to be a website on the dark web called “Silk Road” it was named after the Silk Road that was well known for contraband in Asia.

This is the story of Ross Ulbricht, a man out of Austin, Texas who created the Craigslist of drugs, guns, sex slaves and more. While it didn’t start out that way, the site morphed into an underground drug lord’s dream.

American Kingpin tells the invigorating story about how Ross Ulbricht created the Silk Road and the consequences that came along with it.

It’s also the story of several different government agencies and how they worked together and against each other to con, communicate, extort and finally, lock up the site’s creator.
